Our Afternoon Retreat is back!
Sunday 17th November
Service Description
An afternoon to rest, rebalance and leave totally relaxed and rejuvenated! We will start the afternoon with gentle movement in a Qigong practice. Qi-gong is an ancient Chinese technique based on controlled breathing and guided movements. It is a system of low-impact movements that develops our awareness of the life force energy. The different movements influence the subtle energies within us and help to unblock any stagnant energy which can manifest as physical and emotional miss-ailments. This is a beautiful practice, helping you connect with yourself, your inner stillness and the space around you. Reiki We will share hands on Reiki healing, Reiki drum healing and do a Reiki drum journey with you. The Reiki healing technique is based on the principle that the therapist can channel healing energy to the client. After a tea and cake break, we will do a Yin yoga practice, followed by a pranayama (breathing) exercise, meditation and sound bath. Yin Yoga is a slow, soothing and meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia, and ligaments in the body. In the same way as Qi-gong, it also focuses on stretching and stimulating different acupressure points from Traditional Chinese Medicine. In Yin Yoga, we hold passive poses for about five minutes to work into our connective tissues. The more we work our fascial system and deep tissues, the less dense and tight our bodies become as we age. Movement and stretching hydrate fascia and literally help slow the ageing process. Yin Yoga teaches us to slow down and connect with our bodies. Sound Bath We will end with some standing movement before laying down to finish with a Sound Bath. A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are “bathed” in sound waves. The general intention of a sound bath is to create a state of harmony and balance in the listener by using sound to clear discordance from the participants energy field. Among the benefits are relaxation, an increased sense of wellbeing, expanded awareness and access to inner visionary experience. Book now to enjoy this restorative day and leave feeling rejuvenated. We have yoga mats, blankets, bolsters and eye pillows available to borrow. You are also very welcome to bring your own. Do bring a pillow for you head. This event has sold out every time so book early so as not to miss out! We look forward to sharing this day with you. Love Maria & Bryony
